Galaxy’s Edge: My first steps on Batuu

I got on a computer on May 2nd to get a reservation for Galaxy Edge. Right before I was able to get a date and time, my friend Jon Frost texted me that he got opening day and included me in his reservation, along with his wife Heather. When I got to the site, I was able to get a reservation for June 10th. My reservation with Jon and Heather is for the 8 pm to midnight time slot on May 31st. I’m so excited that I get to go on opening day.

Friday May 31st:

I arrived at Disneyland at 7:15am. Went straight to Launch Bay to get Galaxy Edge opening day merchandise. Got in line at 7:30 am. I saw my friend Jessica working crowd control. It was great to see her.

I was able to buy a few items after a 3 hour wait.

I went over to Disney California Adventure. Had to get on Radiator Springs Racers a few times. I got on Racers 7 times. I’m now at a ride total of 11,799. I’ll be back on Monday to reach 11,800.

I took it easy walking around the park playing Pokémon. I walked back over to Disneyland at 3:30pm. I got a bite to eat and waited for my friends Heather and Jon to show up.

Heather and Jon met me at Star Wars Launch Bay at 5:30 pm to get our wristbands to enter Galaxy Edge.

We walked into Batuu at 8pm. Headed straight for Smuggler’s Run. The line was pretty short. I got to be one of the pilots. You could say the “Han Solo” seat. I had to steer the Falcon. Heather was the co-pilot. She got to jump us to Hyperspace. It was amazing. Better than I could ever imagine. We were able to get in line for the Catina. While Heather waited in line, I was able to get several photos and video in the land.

It was a great experience. They really did a great job. I can’t wait to come back on Monday, June 10th. It will be during the day. 8 am to 12 pm.
